There are a 2 ways to implement a cloud accounting or payroll solution for your business. We will explain these in the following paragraphs.

Migrate to a cloud product

Sage Business Cloud Accounting and Sage Business Cloud Payroll are true cloud products and are accessed via a website. Simply enter your email address and password on the site to access your data and begin processing.

Advantage: easy to use
Disadvantes: conversion costs, limited functionality, training, lose exisiting product
Move your existing product to the cloud

You can purchase a cloud server and move your existing Pastel Accounting and/or Pastel Payroll product to the cloud. Service providers such as Afrihost can set you up with a cloud server relatively quickly - see

Advantage: use existing product, little training required, easy to migrate
Disadvantes: cloud server costs
Cloud Backups

We recommend that your Pastel server ha
IronTree installed to keep your data safe. You should always have an off-site backup, whether or not your server is in the cloud. Data on cloud servers can also be deleted or become corrupt / infected.
Cloud Security

We recommend that you have Panda Security installed on both your local and cloud computers to protect your data against hackers and viruses. Panda is an advanced cloud anti-virus and firewall system which is recommended by IronTree.
