It's important to keep your Sage/Pastel product up-to-date so that you remain compliant and keep your data secure and error-free.

To check the version of your Pastel product, go to Help, About. The latest versions of the products are:

Pastel Payroll: 2025 Update 1 (released 5 March 2024)
Sage VIP / SBCPP: Release 6.2a (released 6 March 2024)
Xpress & Partner: Version 19.4.3 (released 2 Oct 2023)
Pervasive: Version 13

Latest Features & Fixes - Pastel Payroll (2025 update 1):

* The OID formulae have been amended.
* The OID Report has been updated.
* Public holidays have been updated.
* The OID earnings threshold had been updated.
* South African public holidays for 2024/2025 have been applied.
* New system dates have been applied.
* Updated legislative help file has been included.
* New South African tax tables applied.
* A new demonstration company is available with updated dates.
* The tax year symbol has been updated.
* The PayFreq table will now be copied in order to retain history on new fields.
* The ‘Loans’ and ‘LoanTrans’ tables will now be available after year-end.
* Employee history tables will be copied before clearing the info for year-end.
* The ‘TransHistory’ and ‘TranLve’ tables will now be available after year end.
* Employment verification services has been updated.
* The exception for SDL has been amended.
* The MISA Union rates have been increased.
* MIBCO – the rates for Moto Health Medical Aid have been updated.

* Latest Features & Fixes - Pastel Xpress / Partner / 50c Accounting (19.4.3)

* A menu option for the online Download Manager can be found under Help...Internet.
* Any negative values on the Income Statement will display in brackets ().
* A weblink for the Terms & Conditions can be found under Help...Internet.
* The contact telephone number has been updated to 086 123 SAGE (7243).
* Enhanced the serial number scanning capability.
* A runtime error 5 will no longer be received when setting up inventory on Start New Company.
* Customer listing report will include the last customer when ‘Customer Category Sequence’ is selected.
* The tabbing sequence has been updated when using the ‘Enter’ key on the Bank Reconciliation assistant.
* On Pervasive 13, when registering for 9 users 9 Pervasive licenses will be correctly assigned to the License Administrator.
* A runtime error 380 will no longer be received when running through the Reorder Assistant.
* Database fields will clear after processing a receipt reversal (POS).
* Sage Connected Services has been upgraded to version 3.0.6

Latest Features & Fixes - Pervasive Version 13:

Actian (the company that provides and develops Pervasive) no longer supports earlier Pervasive versions. Sage are therefore encouraging all of their clients to upgrade to Pervasive version 13.

* Pastel tables update faster and more reliably
* File structure less prone to corruption than previous versions

* Your annual licence fee includes upgrades to the latest versions. Although the software is free, we will charge for time to upgrade your version. There may be a minimal charge to upgrade the Pervasive version.
